LIDAR with Drones: Aerial Precision at the Service of the Land
At Vister, we focus on innovation, and one of our most powerful tools is aerial LIDAR with drones. This technology combines high-precision laser sensors with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), allowing us to capture detailed topographic data in record time with millimetric accuracy.
What is LIDAR?
LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is a remote sensing system that emits laser light pulses toward the ground and measures the time it takes for them to return. This information is translated into three-dimensional models of the environment, capable of revealing everything from terrain shapes to structures hidden beneath vegetation.
Why use drones?
Drones enable the LIDAR sensor to access remote, irregular, or hard-to-reach areas without direct human intervention. Thanks to their agility and autonomy, UAVs can cover large areas quickly, generating dense and precise point clouds that outperform traditional methods.
